College Essay Writing Summer WorkshopsBy Kristina Knobelsdorff, PhDCollege Advice, Writing Training
When it comes to writing college essays, starting early is key. The best college essays–the ones that really stand out–take time to write.
Unfortunately, many high school seniors realize this too late. They procrastinate and end up with a rushed essay that doesn’t reflect their best efforts or selves.
The typical CT student is short on time during the hectic school year, which is why summer is ideal for getting started on college essays.
But most students need at least some guidance when it comes to writing college essays. Some struggle with just getting started. They need help brainstorming meaningful ideas. Others come with a wealth of ideas, but need guidance selecting a focus and fleshing out details.
An experienced writing teacher or tutor can move students beyond these hurdles. Another option, a college essay writing workshop, can provide additional structure for those who need it.
