Spring fever and the need to close out the academic year strongly
By Daryl CapuanoGeneral Education AdviceIn running a tutoring and test prep company through the years, I certainly am well aware of how high school students feel when spring arrives. They have been working hard – or think they have – and are now ready for fun! That’s great and I certainly do not discourage a healthy dose of high school socialization.
Nonetheless, the spring semester is also the most important for students of all ages due to finals and, triply important for high school juniors in relation to both the SATs and the all important upward trend related to grades.
As a parent, I also know that nagging during this time is met with increased resistance! That is where our value comes in: we help the parent-child relationship through being an outside force that that child is accountable to.
