Connecticut Athletes: Take the June SAT
By Daryl CapuanoGeneral Education AdviceDo you know who knows more about college admissions than pretty much anyone?
College coaches.
Why? Because part of their job involves ensuring that their recruits gain admission.
What’s their advice to their recruits?
Take the SAT as early and as often as possible to ensure the benefits of super scoring, score choice, and early admissions read/approval.
Everything about their advice applies to all candidates except the last part.
Many parents are not fully aware of super scoring: schools take the best score from each section of the test.
Or score choice: you only submit the test scores you wish.
From any analytical perspective, taking the SAT early and often makes sense.
I am fully aware of the emotional/energetic perspective!
Athletes have another consideration. They will get early reads from admissions offices around August/September. For this reason, maximizing scores in Junior year is a must.
