As Connecticut parents review their children’s PSAT scores, many call The Learning Consultants with a distinctly stressful voice. My child’s PSAT scores were… words like “disaster” or “terrible” are common as are phrases like “not indicative of her school performance” or “a wake up call for college”.
Our college counseling and SAT prep work tends to be therapeutic as a by product of our practical help. Sometimes I feel like a health care provider who knows that the patient’s illness feels horrible but if she follows the prescription to good health, she’ll soon feel better. The same is true with test prep.
Every year, the same stressed calls about the PSAT come. And, fortunately, every year some follow the prescribed process and, at the end of our interaction, SAT success is the result.
