Life lessons from test prep class
By Daryl CapuanoSAT ACT Test PrepI was at Pizza Works in Old Saybrook and felt someone tap me on the shoulder. It was the mother of two past SAT students from Lyme-Old Lyme High school. “My children still talk about you and the class.” I knew she was not referring to my teachings of the intricacies of SAT test-taking strategies.
“Mike mentioned your discussion about ‘shifting performance energy’ when he had to give a presentation to his boss and Lynne recently noted that your lecture about creating rituals to reset internal distraction helped her as she sat through a college lecture.
Over the years, I’ve been fortunate in that many old students will send me notes. While they often thank me again for their improved SAT scores, most will usually repeat some advice I’ve given unrelated to test prep.
Our SAT-ACT Mastery seminar will not provide a franchise, cookie-cutter experience. Instead, it may provide some long lasting life lessons.
