The world is uncertain.

The pace of change is the real revolution. In the Industrial Age, change took place over 50–75 years. Now, industries can emerge, flourish, and disappear in a matter of five years—or less.

And beyond the economic realities, there is something even more concerning:

The psychological toll on young adults.

Rates of anxiety, depression, and isolation among young people have reached unprecedented levels.  Many emerging adults feel not just confused, but profoundly overwhelmed by the magnitude of choices they face and the uncertainty of the world they are entering. Social media, the decline of in-person community life, and the collapse of traditional structures that once provided meaning, such as religion and lifelong stable employment, have left many adrift.

I suppose because I have dedicated my life to the work of guiding young adults to college and then into the world, I feel comfortable with the immodesty of suggesting that we can help.  But we can.

Whether it is Jean Card or Jesse Brockwell or Steve Staunton or myself, we have developed our reputation as the go-to advisors for young people in Connecticut’s Shoreline towns.

Happy to help.
