Spring…. SAT time and college kick-off for Connecticut Juniors

Applying to college can be confusing

Spring is approaching.  After another long Connecticut winter, many of my students are eager for spring.  But junior year is unforgiving for those serious about the college process.

For parents of Connecticut juniors who have been urging their children to “start looking at colleges” and begin SAT (or ACT) prep, the time is NOW.  I am fully aware of the battles that parents have to make – and choose – with their teens. But this is one worth the energy.

When I conduct our college counseling sessions with parents, every parent and student who had both the SATs and the college process under control during junior year felt happy that they started early.  And every parent – and student – who comes to me in the fall of senior year for college counseling feels panicked and pressured regarding their late start.

Our SAT Spring Intensive, held in Old Saybrook and Madison, as well as our individual test prep in which we can match students with our tutors anywhere in Southeastern, CT often provides the kick-off to college because the entire reason for test prep relates to college admissions.

NOW is the time.
