The August SAT

By SAT ACT Test Prep

Good news – although I realize saying SAT and good news in the same sentence seems strange – the College Board, makers of the SAT, have created an August test date.

Why is that good news?  Because junior year is really busy.  So upcoming juniors now have the option of preparing for the test in the summer and then taking the August test.  Seniors – who need to take the SAT again – absolutely should take the August test because it will help with their strategic admissions decisions.  October is the next SAT test date (September for the ACT).  Knowing one’s final SAT score prior to the fall of senior year is very important as it helps with Early Action and Early Decision strategic decisions.

Living in Shoreline, Connecticut is wonderful but it also creates a summertime vibe of all play and no work for many students in our idyllic Connecticut coastal town area.  Going to the Madison Beach Club or town beach in Old Saybrook every day, all day, seems to be the understandable preference of our children. I know because I have 3 teens of my own.  Their normal routine – unless I step in – wake up late, go to the beach or pool during the day, come home for dinner and go out at night.  The older kids work a bit but they will not naturally pick up a book unless I create the structure.

Our SAT-ACT Mastery Class is one such structure and it is designed to ensure that students can take the August SAT (as well as the October PSAT and Fall SATs and ACTS).   They’ll still have a lot of summer fun but will also be building their future.
